Frequently Asked Dental Questions

Dental FAQ - Answers To Your Questions

Q: How can you make my smile straighter, brighter, and more attractive?

Dr. Princell offers a full selection of the latest cosmetic dentistry procedures, including in-office and take-home teeth whitening, minimal-prep and traditional porcelain veneers, and Invisalign clear braces. Schedule your smile consultation today, and he will help you decide on the best dental treatment to create the smile you want.

Q: At what age should a child first visit the dentist?

The ADA recommends children see the dentist at age one. If you have cause for concern, call our Indianapolis family friendly dental office at any time, and we will gladly see your children. Generally, children respond well to a first dental visit between ages two and three. By about five years old, we can begin cleaning their teeth regularly.

Q: I have old, dark fillings. Is there any hope for my smile?

Dark fillings and metal crowns can be replaced with strong, aesthetic solutions. Dr. Princell has placed composite resin fillings for more than 15 years, and we also offer porcelain crowns.  Preventative dentistry will help restore the teeth you have and keep them healthy for a lifetime.

Q: I get totally stressed out about visiting the dentist. Can I overcome this fear?

Dr. Princell offers nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation for patients who suffer with dental anxiety. Let sedation dentistry help you get through it with complete peace of mind.

Q: What is a digital X-ray, and how is it different from traditional X-rays?

When compared to traditional radiography, digital X-rays are state of the art advanced dental technology. Detailed images are immediately available for view on a chair side monitor in the operating area and we can transfer digital X-rays and photographs quickly via the Internet to insurance companies and specialists. Digital X-rays require no hazardous developing chemicals and emit 80 percent less radiation, so they are earth friendly!

Q: How is my dental insurance handled in the office?

We accept most insurance and we are a provider of many plans. Feel free to call Julie or Valerie with your dental insurance questions. They will be happy to explain your benefits.

Q: What payment methods do you accept, and what are your financing options?

We accept cash, check, and credit cards. If you prefer, we have many financing options, including CareCredit and National City Bank.  We can also phase your dental treatment plan to fit within your budget. Our goal is to make your dental care affordable so that you receive the dental treatment you want and the smile you deserve!
